Legends say, that when Manju Shree (also Manjushri, some kind of manifestation of Buddha or an enlightend mind) first came here, he saw a valley filled with water so he cut the mountain of Chovar. [{GoogleMap location='Chovar, Nepal' zoom='15}] 

The cut is the so called Bagmati river today and the valley is the Kathmandu valley.
