Only seldomly one meets herds of camels, which represent the livelihood of the nomadic people. Without this frugal animal life in the desert would not be possible. Camels provide meat, wool and dung for heating, while working untiringly as a beast of burden. It is capital for the payment of brides and the atonement of crimes.

Nur mehr selten trifft man auf Kamelherden, die die Lebensgrundlage der Nomaden bilden. Ohne das genügsame Tier wäre ein Dasein in der Wüste nicht denkbar. Es liefert Fleisch, Wolle und verheizbaren Dung, arbeitet unermüdlich als Lasttier und bedeutet Kapital. Mit ihm bezahlt man Bräute und sühnt Verbrechen.
