Wie ein Buchstabe ragt ein Steinmonument in den Himmel und tatsächlich handelt es sich um den ersten Buchstaben des glagolitischen Alphabets, der ältesten slawischen Schrift, erdacht von einem Missionar im 9. Jahrhundert. Dieses überdimensionale A führt in das Tal von Baška[{GoogleMap location='Baška' zoom='10'}], an dessen Ende eine der schönsten Buchten Kroatiens liegt.

Like a letter, a stone monument towers in the sky. It indeed is the first letter of the Glagolitic alphabet, the oldest Slavic script, conceived by a missionary in the 9th century. This oversized A leads into the valley of Baška[{GoogleMap location='Baška' zoom='10'}]. At the end of that valley is one of the most beautiful bays in Croatia.
