Am Rand der 130 m tiefen Fojba-Schlucht erhebt sich die Stadt Pazin[{GoogleMap location='Pazin, Croatia'zoom='10'}], das alte habsburgische Verwaltungszentrum von Istrien und bis heute Sitz des Regional-parlaments. Es ist immer noch offiziell zweisprachig – kroatisch und italienisch.
