This villa of a rich Roman was built in a location with a grandiose view. Above the entrance, the saying 'Step inside and bring good luck with you' welcomes the visitor. The builder Eustolios did it in style: Magnificent ground mosaics illustrate stories from the Roman mythology and already show the influence of the nascent Christianity.

In grandioser Aussichtslage thront die Villa eines reichen Römers. Über dem Eingang begrüßt der Spruch „Tritt ein, bring Glück herein“, den Besucher. Bauherr Eustolios ließ sich auch sonst nicht lumpen. Prächtige Bodenmosaike erzählen Geschichten aus der römischen Mythologie und zeigen bereits Einflüsse des aufkeimenden Christentums.
