The fatal combination of bad weather, rough seas, treacherous currents and razor-sharp cliffs create the coasts of Brittany the most dangerous in the world. It is not surprising that here a lighthouse at nearly any ledge warn of danger. In Penmarch[{GoogleMap location='Point Penmarch, France' zoom='11'}] stands one of the highest in the country. Although the coast is flat, shallows are lurking on imprudent sailors. Every 5 seconds, the 65-meter tower sends a light signal out to sea, which can still be seen even at a distance of 50 km.
