Straubing (ca. 50.000 inhabitants) [{GoogleMap location='Straubing, Bayern' zoom=10'}] is administrative center for the region Donau-Wald. In this region signs of settelements dating back more than 7.500 years have been found. The four hundred year occupation till about 400 A.D. by Romans has left many artifcats that still can be seen in the museum.

Straubing (ca. 50.000 EW) [{GoogleMap location='Straubing, Bayern' zoom=10'}] liegt im Regierungsbezirk Niederbayern in Ostbayern. Sie ist eines von vier niederbayerischen Oberzentren und Verwaltungssitz der Planungsregion Donau-Wald. Die Mittelstadt ist Sitz des Landratsamtes Straubing-Bogen und die größte Stadt im Gäuboden.

Die Gegend wurde schon vor mehr als 7.500 Jahren nachweisbar besiedelt, den größten historischen Einfluss hatte freilich die Eroberung von den Römern, die fast 4 Jahrhudnerte bis ca. 400 n.Ch. zahlreiche auch heute noch sichtbare Spuren hinterließ.
