Next to the forum, emperor Galerius had the Rotonda erected  as his mausoleum in 306. 

However, it did not help him: He died in isolation in what today is Serbia.

Gleich neben dem Forum ließ Kaiser Galerius im Jahr 306 die Rotonda als Mausoleum für sich erbauen. Genutzt hat er es nicht, denn er starb zurückgezogen im heutigen Serbien.
