The city of Rhodes (Ròdos in Greek) with some 50.000 inhabitants is located at the Northern tip [{GoogleMap location='Rhodes, city, greece' zoom='13'}] of the island with the same name, less than 20 km off the Turkish coast [{GoogleMap location='Rhodes, island, greece' zoom='9'}]. 

The entry into the harbor passes between two columns with the sculpture of an elk-like animal at the top.
