The last major eruption of the Krafla[{GoogleMap location='Krafla, Iceland' zoom='8'}] shook Iceland in 1984. Since then, it has been seething dangerously and heats the surrounding groundwater into steam which is transformed immediately into electricity by the connected geothermal power plant.

Der letzte große Ausbruch des Krafla-Vulkans[{GoogleMap location='Krafla, Iceland' zoom='8'}] erschütterte Island im Jahr 1984. Seither brodelt er gefährlich vor sich hin und erhitzt das umliegende Grundwasser direkt zu Dampf. Dieser wird vom angeschlossenen Geothermalkraftwerk gleich in Strom verwandelt.
