Das kleine Städtchen Troia[{GoogleMap location='Troia, Italy' zoom='9'}] glänzt mit einer viel zu großen romanischen Kathedrale, besonderes Augenmerk verdient die filigran aus Stein gearbeitete Fensterrose und Fabelwesen sorgen für die Abwehr von allem Bösen und Schlechten. Die Kirche zeugt von der bedingungslosen Treue der Einwohner zum Papst, im Zweifelsfall sogar gegen Kaiser Friedrich. Das Kirchenoberhaupt dankte es ihnen mit der Abhaltung von vier Konzilen in dem sonst eher unbedeutenden Ort.

The small town of Troia[{GoogleMap location='Troia, Italy' zoom='9'}] impresses with a much too large Romanesque cathedral, especially the filigree stone rose window, and mythical creatures ward off all evil. The church testifies the unconditional loyalty of the inhabitants to the pope, if in doubt even against Emperor Frederick. The head of the church returned the favour and held four councils in this otherwise insignificant place.
