Gallenberg, Wenzel Robert Graf#
b. Vienna, Dec. 28, 1783, d. Rome (Italy), March 13, 1839, composer and theatre director, student of J. G. Albrechtsbergers. Married to Countess G. Guicciardi, to whom L. van Beethoven dedicated his piano sonata in C sharp minor ("Moonlight Sonata"). In 1805 organized the celebrations for Joseph Bonaparte in Naples. Lost his fortune while he was the head of the Vienna Kaerntnertor Theatre from 1828-1830. As a composer, especially known for his ballets.
