Chambers of Notaries Public, statutory representative bodies of
notaries and notarial candidates ( Chambers) first established in the
19th century. Chambers of notaries exist in all provinces,
and the provincial chambers are members of the Austrian Chamber of
Notaries. Their organs are appointed according to democratic
principles, and the chambers are financed by membership fees. The
chambers of notaries are subject to supervision by the Ministry of
Justice.
