0.5MZnO-FA-Sepshowsthebestactivitywiththe lowestMOremainingpercentages(15%for
decolorizationand12%fordegradation) in less than10min.RapidphotodegradationofMOis
facilitated, due to thesynergistic effectof: (1) itsadsorptiononthemixedstructuresofFAand
Sep,and(2) itsphotodegradationby theZnOnanoparticles.
Dark adsorption capacity of 0.5MZnO-FA-Sep catalyst is also investigated by varying the
initialMOconcentrations from3.27 to 32.7mgL 1 (Figure 2C andD). It is evident that the
amount of adsorbed MO at low initial concentrations is smaller than the corresponding
amount at higher initial values, whileMO removal percentages decrease significantly with
increasing initialMOconcentration. ThehighestMOremainingpercentages arenoticedwith
32.7mgL 1MOconcentration as 73.2 and71.2%after 120min fordecolorization anddegra-
dation processes, respectively. The removal rate of MO is fast up to 30–40 min, and then
