Robert
Anagnostopoulos In 1935 Herbert Eichholzer and Viktor Badl designed an office building
and a market hall at the Andreas Hofer Platz in the city centre of Graz.1
The ten storey high office block by Eichholzer and Badl was situated
right next to the modernist headquarters of a gas and electrical supply
company, which was designed by Rambald von Steinbüchel-Rheinwall
and built only a few years earlier. The office block was connected to the
lower, circular shaped market hall by a bridge over the street. The large
flat market hall was characterised by its overhanging roof.2
The model is made of plastic sheets. The surrounding buildings
and the landscape are made of wood and cardboard. The model is a
reconstruction of the original project’s model.
