Thisexampledemonstrates that there is still avarietyofpossibleM&Eapproaches even for the same specificM&Epurpose. Therefore, theAdaptationM&ENavi- gatordoesnot leadusers totheoneandonlyM&Eapproach,butratherdirects them toashort listof relevantM&Eapproaches. Indeed, theAdaptationM&ENavigator helps to filter among the many existingM&E approaches those that seemmost relevant for a givenpurpose. TheM&Eapproacheswhichareassociatedwith the samespecificpurposeeach constitute a very distinctive way of assessment, e.g. assessing improvements in resiliencethrougheitherasetofhighlevelnational indicatorsor throughhousehold levelquestionsaspartofacensus (Welleetal. 2014).EveryM&Eapproachcan in turn be implemented in a variety of ways.
