University of Technology Sydney. Anna’s research focuses on the intersection
betweenclimate change adaptation, disaster riskmanagement anddevelopment in
theAsia-Pacific region.Anna’swork includes evaluating and developing national
climate change adaptation policy and strategies and conducting participatory cli-
mate change vulnerability and capacity assessments.Anna holds degrees in atmo-
spheric science and environmentalmanagement.
JasmineHyman is anEconomicAffairsOfficerat theUnitedNationsDepartment
ofEconomicandSocialAffairs.She is alsocurrentlycompletingadoctorateat the
Yale School of Forestry and theEnvironment, where she seeks to identify design
principles for global climate finance schemes that promote equitable development
and social justice. Prior to her research at Yale, Jasmine helped build the Gold
StandardFoundation, acertificationschemeforgreenhousegasemission reduction
projects under the Kyoto Protocol’s offset scheme and for the voluntary carbon
offsetmarkets in theUSandAustralia.
IreneKarani is aDirectorofLTSAfrica.Shehasover20years inclimatechange
related issues, natural resourcemanagement and rural livelihoodswith communi-
ties inAfrica. ishighlyexperiencedinthedesign,managementandimplementation
and evaluation of projects/programmes related to climate change adaptation, con-
servationandgeneral environmentalmanagement, food security,water and sanita-
tion, pastoralism, gender mainstreaming, capacity building, drought cycle
management,eco-tourismandpovertyalleviation. Irenehasverystrongmonitoring
and evaluation skills having worked to design project and programme M&E
systemsat community, sub-national, national and regional levels.
Nyachomba Kariuki is a consultant with LTS Africa. She has over 4 years,
experience, in testing the TAMD framework in Isiolo and is highly experienced
in participatory approaches toM&E through training, analysis and documentation
of theories of change, development of indicators and assumptions at community
level.
TimoLeiter is anAdvisor for adaptation to climate change atGermanDevelop-
mentCooperation’s (GIZ)CompetenceCentre forClimateChange.Workingwith
government and non-government partners he is developing methods and
approaches to plan and implement adaptation from national to local level. His
