October2012, theEuropeanEvaluationSocietyawardedhispaperonenvironmen-
tal evaluation for a “distinguished contribution to evaluationpractice.”
RobD. van denBergPresident, International Development EvaluationAssocia-
tion and Visiting Professor, International Development Institute, King’s College
(London), isagraduateof theStateUniversityofGroningen in theNetherlands.He
is also aVisiting Fellow at theCentre forDevelopment Impact at the Institute of
SocialStudies inBrighton,UK.He isamemberof theMonitoringAdvisoryGroup
of the Global Partnership for Effective Development Cooperation. From 2004 to
2014hewasDirectorof the IndependentEvaluationOfficeof theGlobalEnviron-
ment Facility inWashington, DC and before that Director of Evaluation of the
DutchMinistry of ForeignAffairs from 1999 to 2004. He has been active in the
DACEvaluationNetwork (Chair from2002–2004), theUNEvaluationGroupand
theEvaluationCooperationGroupof the InternationalFinancial Institutions.Since
2015he is providing independent evaluation advice to development agencies.
IoannisVasileiou isanAgriculturalSpecialist,with theClimate-SmartAgriculture
(CSA) Upscaling Team, at the World Bank, supported by CCAFS and IFPRI.
Ioannis also serves as a ScienceOfficer on Policies& Institutions for theCGIAR
ProgramonClimateChange,Agriculture andFoodSecurity (CCAFS).His current
work focuses on issues related toglobal change and resilience, aswell as enabling
governance, institutions and financingmechanisms for agriculture. He has previ-
ously worked on sustainability issues in the European Commission, the United
Nations, and thenon-profit sector.Heholds aMaster of InternationalAffairs from
Columbia University, where he specialized in Economic and Political Develop-
ment, aswell as a jointMsc-MBA in IndustrialManagement, focusing onEnergy
and Environment, from the National Technical University of Athens and the
University ofPiraeus.
RomanWindisch is the Deputy Country Director of Swiss State Secretariat for
EconomicAffairsSECOinVietnam.Heis responsible forSwitzerland’seconomic
development cooperation program on infrastructure financing and private sector
development.Before, heworked for several years at headquarters as anevaluation
officer in SECO’s quality assurance division. He holds aMaster degree inGeog-
raphy from theUniversity of Zurich and aDiploma on SustainableDevelopment
fromDeMontfortUniversityLeicester.
