The Reek group showed in 2016 that [Ru(salbinapht)(CO)(PiPr3)] (Figure 10) is also capable of dehydrogenating MeOH [23]. A TOF value of 55 h−1 could be reached by a catalyst loading of 24 ppm with respect to MeOH in a 25% dioxane/75% 9:1 (v/v) MeOH/H2O mixture containing 8 M KOH and conducting the reaction at 82°C.
