5.1.Analysisof theeffectofcatalyst concentration
The presence of catalyst helps to accelerate the reaction, reducing the activation energy
required to start it. Thus, catalyst concentration is one of themain factors that can affect the
reactionkinetics.
In order to analyse the effect of the variation of the catalyst concentration, it is necessary to
separatelyanalysedifferent rotationvalues.
Foran initial concentrationofsoybeanoil equal to0.83molL 1andbytheEqs. (4)and(6), the
consumptionof TAGandconversion into FAMEwere calculated. Thevelocity (Ï…)was calcu-
latedaccording toEq. (5).
