18.7 Conclusion The Adaptation M&E Navigator is closing a gap in the existing landscape of guidebooks and tools for adaptation M&E. First, it provides a list of specific purposes for undertaking adaptationM&E in practice. In doing so it goes beyond thefrequentlystatedgeneralpurposes likeaccountabilityandlearningwhich, taken on their own, are not sufficient to decide upon particularM&E approaches. Sec- ondly, theAdaptationM&ENavigator illustrates to decisionmakers the range of available options and equips themwith the necessary information to select among those the most suitable one for their particular purpose. The Adaptation M&E Navigator is hosted on an established online platform (www. AdaptationCommunity.net) in theformofaneasy tousewebinterface.Bydrawing upon adaptationM&Eapproaches and examples available to date, theAdaptation M&ENavigatoralsodemonstrates theprogresswhichhasbeenmadeinthissubject area since the first International Conference on Evaluating Climate Change and Development tookplace in 2009.
