lifted was determined to be 16 kg for this test as well. The subject would lift the weight
placed on the ground for 30 times (1 min) with the help of Assist Suit with 3 different
levels of the spring strength and without assistance. The subject will start from standing
posture. They will flex his/her knee and lift the item placed on the ground. The subject
will go back to the standing posture while keeping hold of the item. Once that is done,
they will flex their knee again and place the item on the ground. This routine of
movements will be counted as one and each routine of movement shall be completed in
two seconds.
Pattern 1 With the assistance of coil spring (Spring strength 150.9 N)
Pattern 2 With the assistance of coil spring (Spring strength 224 N)
Pattern 3 With the assistance of coil spring (Spring strength 404.5 N)
Pattern 4 No assistance
3. Results
3.1 Effect of assist tool to the number of times of lifting [Table 1,2,3,4]
All subjects completed more lifting with assistance, however, the percentage of
increase was different for each subject. For example subject 1 had an increase of
101.4 % in the number of times completed with assistance whereas for subject 4 the
amount of increase was 19.2 %. The average number of lifting completed with
assistance was 88.3 times versus 57.5 times without assistance, so the average number
of lifting completed increased by 53.6 % with assistance. [Table1]
Table 1. A number of maximum lifting test. All subject scored more completed action with assistance. An
increase of 19.2 %〜101.4 %.
Due to failure to obtain some of the surface EMG in the gluteus maximus from
subject 2, the comparison was between the remaining three subjects. Significant
reduction of RMS was observed for both gluteus maximus and quadriceps with
