2.2. Dongle interface
The dongle for headphone-jack is a device developed and used in this
implementation[8]. The dongle is linked with the smartphone application when the
headphone-jack dongle is inserted into the phone. The dongle is recognized and
identified when it transmits signals to the smartphone and the application confirms that
the headphone-jack dongle is connected.
A special characteristic of this device is the boosting and flow of a micro-current,
supplied through the headphone-jack, by a booster circuit within the dongle. Thus,
there is no need to charge or change batteries, and a user experience (UX) is available
at any time through simple use of the device. Table 1 shows detailed specifications,
while Figure 3 presents a view of the device.
