4. Summary and Discussion We configured a system for motivating ethical consumption behavior using Mode.TOKYO, a dongle interface, and Broof. This system has two functions: (1) using the dongle interface to appeal to customers visiting a commercial establishment to engage in ethical consumption, and (2) encouraging successive (continuous) ethical consumption by enabling customers to review a history of their consumption behavior. By using Mode.TOKYO, it is possible to acquire action logs such as user's video viewing time and reaction time until reaching order. Also, tokens distributed by Broof can be used to visualize how much the consumer has made an ethical consumption behavior so far. Via operation of the system at an actual restaurant, we confirmed (1), the function of making an appeal to ethical consumption to a consumer at a commercial establishment. With this confirmation of system operation, we verified that our system can be easily introduced at a restaurant and also that our system motivates consumers to perform acts of ethical consumption. Regarding (2), we have visualized ethical consumptions However, inasmuch as we have yet to confirm whether making ethical behavior accessible will motivate ethical consumption in the daily lives of consumers. Therefore, evaluation of action trigger and interface is possible by using data obtained by this system as a parameter of ethical consumption action trigger index, but demonstration experiment and data analysis based on a sufficient number of samples will be one of our future tasks.
