online courses hosted in Fanya Learning and Teaching Platform by the computers
(http://whpu.fy.chaoxing.com/portal) and the Superstar mlearning App on the mobile
phones as below in Figure 1 and Figure 2.In addition, the above-mentioned website of
Fanya provides the instructors with online learning data about online learning
performances and online assignment performances as below in Figure 3 and Figure 4.
With technical support from Superstar Inc., a faculty team from Wuhan Polytechnic
University’s School of Foreign Languages developed an online Course in English
Speech and Debate. It was 2-credit course for first-year English majors to take for one
semester from September 2018 to January 2019. Sixty-Four students took this blended
language course of 32 class periods as an elective. Each week they attended face-to-face
classroom instructions with their mobile phones. The faculty team designed activities
based on the widely used Bring Your Own Devices (BYOD) model. On the first day of
the class, all students were invited to download Superstar Mobile Learning App to their
mobile phones and scanned a QR code to join the online course.
