Principles for selecting the video interview and (first) suggestions (Proposal by Gerhard Botz) 1. General Exhibit : 20  video-interviews on screens, 20–30  min. each The interviews (narratives) will be transcribed and translated ; the video will be subti- tled in German (for the time being this is enough work). The exhibition as a whole should not aim at representing the universe of the history of the concentration camp of Mauthausen and its branch camps. It can be understood as a commentary and an addition to the material remains and the buildings at the site. It shall emphasise the subjectivity and the individuality of selected survivors and their memories, by this counter, and enrich the historicised and «objective» recollection of the Nazi past, possibly provoking the association of a «Tower of Babel of Terror».
