Authorâs affiliation
Sigrid Thomsen is a scholar of Comparative Literature and American Studies at the University of
Vienna and a member of the Research Platform Mobile Cultures and Societies. In her doctoral the-
sis, she studies imaginative mobilities in contemporary Caribbean diaspora literature. She holds an MA
in Comparative Literature (Africa/Asia) from the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS) at the
University of London. Sigrid also has BA degrees in Comparative Literature and in Philosophy from
the University of Vienna. She has published on Caribbean diaspora literature, Mobility Studies, and
comics; further research interests include postcolonial and decolonial theory, South African literature,
popular culture, debates around World Literature, and poetry.
