media can assist in the integration migrants and minorities into society, they
have yet to institutionally integrate diversity. And because people pay attention
to media that pay attention to them, namely, ethnic and aboriginal media,
therein lies their success and popularity: In securing a normative blueprint
that buffers as it bonds, that bridges as it crosses borders, that insulates as it
integrates, aboriginal and ethnic media are proving pivotal as social capital in
advancing a living together without drifting apart.
