Theproblemrelates to structuralising individual componentsand thenature of theirmutual relationships(thosewhofollowcontemporarysociological lit- eraturewillbeawarethatthisproblemremainscontested). The crucial point of Bauer’s research was to find a concept that would overcome this problem.
