Im Mittelpunkt des Ansatzes stehen die Halbierung der Entwicklungszeit, die Reduzierung der Investitionskosten um bis zu 90 % sowie eine modulare Fahrzeugarchitektur. Darauf basierend wurde ein auf die individuellen Bedürfnisse der Deutsche Post DHL Group ausgelegtes Elektrofahr- zeug namens „Work“ entwickelt. Dieses in enger Kooperation mit Zustellern der Post entwickelte Nutzfahrzeug und spezieller Komponenten wurde 2012 präsentiert und ist seit 2014 im bundeswei- ten Flottentest bei der Deutschen Post DHL Group. Die Serienproduktion des „Work“ und der Kompo- nenten ist in 2015 angelaufen. Das Konzept und der Erfolg führten dazu, dass im Dezember 2014 die StreetScooter GmbH zu 100 % durch die Deut- sche Post DHL Group übernommen wurde.
