245 The Authors Horst Pöttker, Prof. Dr., is professor at the Institute of Journalism at the University of Dortmund. Currently he serves as dean of the Department of Cultural Studies. His teaching and research interests include media and migration, journalism history and theory, the language and style of journalistic genres, public ethics and research methods. Rainer Geißler, Prof. Dr., is professor of Sociology at Siegen University. Main research areas include social structure/social inequality, migration and integration, sociology of mass communication, sociology of education/ socialization. Sonja Weber-Menges, Dr., is research assistant at the Department of Sociology (Prof. Dr. Rainer Geißler) of Siegen University and works at the research project “Media Integration of Ethnic Minorities”. Research areas include social structure, social inequality, migration and media. Heinz Bonfadelli, Prof. Dr., is professor at the Institute for Mass Communication and Media Research, University of Zurich, Switzerland since 1994. His research interests include uses and effects of mass media, the knowledge gap and digital divide; mass media and youth, reading behaviour of children and adolescents, media and migration. Petra Herczeg, Dr., works as assistant at the Institute of Communication Studies, University of Vienna, since 2001. Since 2002 she also works as a freelance radio-journalist for the cultural programme Ö1 of the Austrian broadcasting Company (ORF). Research interests include multilingualism and childhood in the communication society, journalism, ethnic minorities and media. Leen d’Haenens, Prof. Dr., teaches as associate professor at the Radboud University Nijmegen and the Catholic University of Leuven. She also was guest lecturer on issues such as media policy, media and minorities, media convergence and media ethics, and Canadian studies at several international Universities. Souley Hassane, Dr., is post-doctoral fellow at the University of Poitiers, CNRS Research Laboratory: “Migrinter”, in the Minority Media Programme.
