v About the Special Issue Editor Donna Gruol is an Associate Professor in the Department of Neuroscience at the Scripps Research Institute. She has studied the role of neuroimmune factors in normal brain physiology and disease states for over fifteen years, and has made significant contributions to an understanding of the actions of neuroimmune factors on neuronal excitability and synaptic function. Her current research focuses on the role of neuroimmune factors in the effect of alcohol on brain structure and function.
