6.4 Conclusions
Therearemanypossibilitiesforknowledgetransfer inacademia.Technologycanbe
theobjectof this transferbut itcanalsobecomeaninstrument,especially in thecase
of online technology; one example of the former is patents and contracts, and one
example of the latter is scientific communication and general publication. Special
mentionshouldbegiventopublicfinancing.Inthisarticlewebreakdownthecircleof
linkedfundinginaspecificregionalcontext,asasample,andwithaconcreteobject
focusedononline technology for education.Weconclude that aproper selectionof
the instrument according to thefinal objective, product, and availablemedium is a
determiningcomponentof transfer success.
