Jetzt ging es Schlag auf Schlag: Zuerst wurde die Klein- serienproduktion der gelben „Nutzwerkzeuge“ in Angriff genommen. Dann der Paukenschlag: Über- zeugt von der großen Zukunft der kleinen Firma übernahm schon im Folgejahr 2014 die Deutsche Post die StreetScooter GmbH, um fortan unter der Regie des Aachener Start-up-Unternehmens eigene Fahrzeuge für die Brief- und Paketbeförderung zu produzieren. Nach dem Motto „außen gelb, innen grün“ wurden nur ein Jahr später 200 gelbe, umweltfreundliche Fahrzeuge in Serie produziert. Then the bomb- shell: Convinced of the great future of the small company, the Deutsche Post acquired StreetScooter GmbH the very next year (2014), to henceforth pro- duce its own vehicles for mail and parcel transport under the direction of the Aachen start-up com- pany. 2015: Just one year later, under the motto “yellow on the outside, green on the inside”, 200 yellow, eco-friendly vehicles were produced in series. Also in 2015 StreetScooter GmbH opened a test track for delivery vehicles on the grounds of the German-Dutch Avantis business park.
