The average thickness of the parchment of the individual 24 folios of the Vienna Genesis ranges from 0.108 mm to 0.168 mm26. The thickness of each folio was measured at 12 points around the margins (Fig. 5) using a Mitutoyo micrometer (MDC-SX). The average thickness of folios 1–24 is recorded in Table 1.
