282 Conservation of the Vienna Genesis and the new storage system servators. Three mats were put into one archival box. All boxes are stored in a metal cab- inet in a climate-controlled storage area. A monitoring system will be established to evalu- ate the condition of the Vienna Genesis once a year. Particularly fragile areas of parchment, inks and miniatures will be compared with the digital images and the mapping of damage. Like our predecessors we have tried to conserve the Vienna Genesis as well as possible with our current knowledge and with the support of our partners and colleagues.
