Garelli, Pius Nikolaus von#
Garelli, Pius Nikolaus von, b. Bologna (Italy), Sept. 10, 1675, d. Vienna, July 21, 1739, doctor and librarian. Lived in Vienna from around 1696 and was the personal physician of Emperor Karl VI; from 1723 prefect of the library of the Imperial Court, which was newly erected on Josefsplatz square under his supervision. Was also in charge of the collection of ancient relics, and donated his own valuable book collection to the court library.
