Wessely, Josephine#

b. Vienna, March 8, 1860, d. Karlovy Vary, Czech Republic (then Karlsbad), Aug. 12, 1887, actress; aunt of Paula Wessely. Acted in Leipzig in 1876, at the Vienna Burgtheater from 1878-1887; played all chief roles as leading lady (famous for her Gretchen in "Faust").
