and environment (MSc).
Wiebke F€orchworks with the CGIAR Research Program on Climate Change,
Agriculture and FoodSecurity (CCAFS) as ScienceOfficer, based at the Interna-
tional LivestockResearch Institute (ILRI) inNairobi, Kenya. She helped coordi-
nating the shift towards a learning-based impact pathway and results-based
management approach for CCAFS, and is supporting the overall ME&L of the
program.SheholdsaPhDfromtheAridLandsResourceSciences Interdisciplinary
Program at the University of Arizona and a BSc(Hons) in Agriculture from the
University ofReading.Her professional experience and research interests revolve
aroundfoodsecurity, resilienceandvulnerability,globalchangeimpactsonsociety
andtheenablingenvironments,governanceandinstitutionstosupportcommunities
in adapting to climate change. She is also interested in research for development
processes and transformative learning, how to work with theories of change and
impact pathways to increase the effectiveness of research for development.
Yann Franc¸ois is an Engineer specialized in natural resources management,
climatechangeadaptationandmitigationprojectsandclimatefinancemechanisms.
He has occupied variousmanagement and technical positions in the international
NGOGERESwhich allowedhim todevelop skills in project development, imple-
mentation and evaluation in the fields of sustainable forestmanagement, climate-
smart agricultureandenergy inWestAfrica,CentralAsiaandSoutheastAsia.Asa
ClimateandDevelopmentTechnicalAdvisor issupportingevidence-basedprojects
andpolicydevelopment,collaboratingwithpoliticaldecision-makersonNationally
Appropriate Mitigation Actions (NAMA) and REDD+ strategies as well as
supporting the long-termfinancing of projects through carbonfinancing under the
UNFCCCCDMandGoldStandardmechanisms.
MarinaGavald~ao is a Forestry Engineer specialist on ecosystems services and
climatefinance. Since2003,Marinahas gathered experience in the design, imple-
mentationand the coordinationof climate changemitigationprojects andenviron-
