He has occupied variousmanagement and technical positions in the international NGOGERESwhich allowedhim todevelop skills in project development, imple- mentation and evaluation in the fields of sustainable forestmanagement, climate- smart agricultureandenergy inWestAfrica,CentralAsiaandSoutheastAsia.Asa ClimateandDevelopmentTechnicalAdvisor issupportingevidence-basedprojects andpolicydevelopment,collaboratingwithpoliticaldecision-makersonNationally Appropriate Mitigation Actions (NAMA) and REDD+ strategies as well as supporting the long-termfinancing of projects through carbonfinancing under the UNFCCCCDMandGoldStandardmechanisms. MarinaGavald~ao is a Forestry Engineer specialist on ecosystems services and climatefinance.
