108 HAUS ALBRECHER LESKOSCHEK BY HERBERT EICHHOLZER Year 1937 Status Demolished Material Lego 3D Doodler Scale 1:100 Model maker Barbara Gruber In 1937 Herbert Eichholzer designed a family house for Herma Albrecher-Leskoschek and the painter Axl Leskoschek which was situated next to the lake Hilmteich in Graz.1 The two storey house was made of two rectangular volumes, the larger one of the two with big windows on the ground floor and a smaller one on the first floor. The floor of the building was raised above the ground on pillars and was situated close to the Lechwald woods.2 The ground floor of the house was framed by a terrace facing south-west with an overhanging roof held up by thin grey columns. The entrance was situated on the north facing back of the house. The main facade of the house was the side facing the garden. The ground floor of the house measured 150m². The ground floor consisted of the entrance and the kitchen, which were facing towards the north, as well as the living and dining room, facing south-east. The living and dining room was 75m² in total, and was separated into three parts by a step and a free standing column. In the middle of the room hung a 7m long wall painting by Axl Leskoschek. The rooms could be opened out to the terrace via glazed doors. On the first floor there were two bedrooms, a walk-in cupboard, a bathroom and a room for the staff.3 The model was made of Lego bricks and the delicate structures, such as the columns and the terrace rails were made with the help of a 3D Doodler. 1 Schurz, Peter H.
