floor was realized. This change in the share of settling can be attributed to the vortex flow
caused by submerge vanes. These vortices flow move sediments settled on the floor and
direct them toward the flushing orifice. As shown in Figures 12 and 13, by holding constant
the total efficiency, different modes of arrangements could change the orifice efficiency and
the floor efficiency. With these changes, for each R mode, when the orifice efficiency
increased compared to its corresponding no-vane mode, the floor efficiency decreased
compared to its corresponding no-vane mode.
