2.2. Electric Power Development Plan in Central Sulawesi
The generation facilities construction plan in the Central Sulawesi Province regard to
potential of local primary energy (hydropower) include the distribution pattern of population.
Large hydropower potential of Poso watershed can be developed into a large-scale
hydropower up to 575 MW. To meet the electricity needs until 2024, an additional generating
capacity was planned about 457 MW with the following details:

Construction of Hydroelectric Power Plant (HEPP) Poso-1 with 4x30 MW capacity will utilize
water resources derived from Poso River, with headwaters in the form of Lake Poso.
