Ambiesta dam (Fig. 2) has been equipped with following ancillary struc-
tures:
ï‚· Surface outlet on the left side, equipped with gates, with flood discharge
of 72 m3/s;
ï‚· Surface spillway on the dam body with flood discharge of 120 m3/s;
ï‚· Bottom outlet with discharge capacity of 48 m3/s;
ï‚· Water intake structure on the right flank of the reservoir, which feeds two
different tunnels with a diameter respectively of 4.40 m and 5.15 m, that
feed Somplago hydroelectric plant.
