INTRODUCTION The Moragolla Hydro PowerPlant (HPP) project involves the implementation of a Run-of-River Hydropower scheme on the upper reach of Mahaweli River in Sri Lanka. It will be the latest and presumably the last entry in the upper Mahaweli Complex, which is a cascade of five reservoirs serving for hydropower generation and supply of irrigation water.
