An exception was made by the way we elicited the intention to change behaviour: For this purpose, we created scenarios which were then assessed by the respondents. For example, we showed screenshots of a navigation app that offered a faster route than the one actually chosen. We then asked for users’ willingness to choose the faster route based on given information. Figure 6: Scenario used to elicit the intention to change behaviour Sample In total, we analysed 212 datasets, 178 of which were complete and fully usable. Figure 7: Basic attributes of the sample Figure 7 shows basic attributes of the sample. Regarding the manifestations of these attributes, it becomes clear, that the sample is not representative for the whole population of Germany due to the studential (but not exclusively universitary) character of the respondents. Hence, a second representative survey has to be conducted using the results of this study as a starting point for eventual improvements of the questionnaire. Evaluation of data The evaluation of the collected data was realised in two steps: First, the quality of the used scales was analysed through factor and reliability analyses.
