He thinks that «mimicry» for the survivors was decisive after 1945 to hide their past ; thus, it was not possible to find «criminals» or sterilised ones for being interviewed in Germany. V. Presentation and choice of video interviews During the following two days each regional co-ordinator presented one (or two) pre-selected videos and gave an overview on the general situation of the interviewees and the interviews made in their field of responsibility. 1) Austria (1) : Josef Hechenblaikner, male, born 1911, since then living in Tyrol, a farm worker, became a Jehovah’s Witness in 1936, denied military service, arrested in 1939 and deported to Mauthausen, liberated in Gusen in May 1945. 2) Germany : Dr.  Karl Brozik, male, Jewish, of Czech origin, deported to the Łódź ghetto, member of a resistance group in the ghetto, deported to Auschwitz, in Janu- ary 1945 transferred to Mauthausen, reports about the «Mühlviertel rabbit hunt», after 1945 in Czechoslovakia, 1968 emigration to Germany. 3) Spain : Pablo Escribano, Spanish Republican, catholic socialisation, never married, of very poor origin. 4) Italy : Marcello Martini, male, communist socialisation, deported to Mauthausen with the age of 14. 5) Slovakia : Martin Michalec, male, a partisan, arrested as a political prisoner, in Feb- ruary 1945 deported to Mauthausen at the age of 20, was on the first transport from Slovakia, reports about Hungarian Jews and Revier killings, after 1945 communist. 6) Israel : Eva Lukash, female, born in Prague, assimilated Jewish family, attracted by the communist youth movement, with 16  years in the underground resistance move- ment, deported to Theresienstadt, Auschwitz and Freiberg, arrived in Mauthausen in April 1945, reports about beauty and family re-union, after 1945 emigration to Israel.
