Only regarding the item: “If Swiss people and immigrants respected each other, there would be no problems”, does a large majority of those questioned agree, irrespective of the country of origin. 4.4 Media Access One basic prerequisite for media use is, of course, media access. For this reason, we asked young people which media are available in general at home and, especially, in their own bedrooms. In light of media access at home, migration background is more significant than social background with respect to print media, satellite TV, and new media. Swiss families seem to have better equipment in their living rooms than do families from a migration background. But a somewhat different result is observable if one looks at the media available in the youths’ bedrooms (Table 7).
