The cytokines IL-1β and IL-6were significantly increased 7- and 12-fold, respectively (p<0.01–0.001), inthecontrolratsgivenLPS(placebo-control+LPS),whereas inthemorphine-tolerant group (morphine-tolerant +LPS) the fold changeswerenot statistically significant (3- and7-fold, respectively)comparedto theratsgivensaline (Figure3,Table3). 107
