âI agree with Tina.â I said â âNo one should tell us what to
do. At least no one should stop children from going outside to
play.â
I was happy that they both were here. Still, I was angry at my
mother. I thought it was really unfair that I wasnât allowed to go
outside. She treated me as if I was a baby. It was just unfair.
Suddenly Nadim asked: âSo are we free if no one stops us
from doing something?â Now we started again to discuss, but
finally we played cards and then tried juggling three balls, then
five. The day ended with having fun.
Episode 5: Who am I? (told by Tina)
I still didnât understand. So when I came home I told my par-
ents what we talked about in school, because maybe they can
help me. In school we read a story about a girl that gave herself
many names. When she was playing with her friend, sitting on
a tree in the garden, they were âAppleâ and âPear.â When she
was in the woods near her house looking for beautiful stones,
feathers and other beautiful things she called herself âMiriam.â
And when she played in the park near the little lake, she imag-
ined being near the seaside â then she was âJuliaâ. But one day,
when she came home, she wondered who she really was.
I liked the story. We talked about the girl and the story and
then Emina suddenly said: âI also donât know who I am.â Our
teacher wondered: âWhat do you mean, Emina?â
âWell, I was Bosnian and since a week ago I am now Aus-
trian. I do not understand. I still feel the same and I love Bosnia.
